There have been many big-money .CO domain sales in the past few months. Here are the unconfirmed sales, as reported by DN Sale Price and NamePros:
More Big .CO Domain Sales
Posted by TimmDolphin.co Sells for $48K
Posted by TimmDolphin Energy Limited has announced it has acquired the Dolphin.co Internet domain from .CO Internet S.A.S., the company that manages the .CO top-level domain. Dolphin Energy transports natural gas from Qatar to the UAE and Oman. According to the press release, “The company will use the domain name ‘dolphin.co’ to enhance its existing online presence with a short, memorable domain that will help the company to engage with its stakeholders locally and across the Middle East region more easily.” This purchase “comes at a time when there is an increase in the number of companies acquiring .CO domain names.”
DNJournal reported that Dolphin Energy paid $48,000 to .CO Internet for the Dolphin.co domain name. This is more good news for the .CO domain with another major legitimate company establishing its Web presence on the .CO domain. But as of today, Dolphin.co simply forwards to the existing DolphinEnergy.com website.
GoDaddy’s .CO Super Bowl Commercial Results in Record Sales
Posted by TimmGoDaddy bought two 30-second commercials in yesterday’s Super Bowl at an estimated price of over $2 million each. The first commercial to air after the end of the first quarter was GoDaddy’s .CO commercial, starring sexy lingerie model Natalia Velez getting her body painted by regular GoDaddy girls Danica Patrick and Jillian Michaels.
The commercial was a smashing success, as GoDaddy reported its highest sales ever for a Super Bowl Sunday, its eighth consecutive year advertising in the big game. GoDaddy also saw a 10X increase in .CO domain name registrations.
It’s unlikely that GoDaddy will immediately recoup the millions it spent on this .CO Super Bowl commercial, but hopefully the mass exposure of .CO to over 100 million viewers will strengthen the .CO brand and establish GoDaddy as the go-to place to purchase .CO domains.
Novy.co Picks Up on Buzz in .CO Domain Marketplace
Posted by TimmMilwaukee, Wisconsin January 19, 2012—With .CO becoming the first globally-recognized business domain since .COM, Novy Domains LLC (aka Novy.co) sees the .CO momentum building and announces the availability of 1,400 premium .CO Internet domains for sale.
The co-founders of Novy.co grew up in a family business and have continued the entrepreneurial spirit throughout their lives. President and CTO Timm Martin has been following the .CO buzz since ICANN approved it as a generic top-level domain (TLD) in 2010. “In a global market, people see .CO as abbreviation for ‘Company,’ ‘Corporation’ and ‘Commerce,’” said Timm. “Since .CO is relatively new, there are still many great .CO domains available at an affordable price. This gives brands, businesses and individuals the opportunity to create a global footprint on a limited budget.” Timm also authors Novy.co’s blog at coblog.co.
.CO Internet Announces Exclusive Partnership with Sedo to Sell Previously Unreleased .CO Domains
Posted by Timm.CO Internet has announced a 2-year exclusive partnership with Sedo to broker a select set of previously unreleased premium .CO domain names. There are 727 .CO domains in the collection, ranging in price from US $10,000, to three domains at $150,000: Africa.co, France.co and Italy.co.
“Sedo has done a fabulous job helping to establish and develop the secondary market for premium .CO domain names,” said Lori Anne Wardi, Vice President of .CO Internet S.A.S. “Given their expertise and global reach, we are confident that Sedo is the perfect partner to help us bring these valuable digital assets to end-users worldwide.”
Sedo returned the love. “.CO Internet has been very successful in setting the bar for up and coming TLDs, and we are proud to be partnering with the .CO Registry to help bring these not yet released domains to businesses worldwide,” said Sedo CEO, Tim Schumacher. “As we begin seeing new gTLDs hit the market in 2012, .CO will serve as an example to those applying for their own domain extension of the solid business model and strong partners that any registry will need to succeed.”
Below is the list of domains grouped by price, followed by a complete list A-Z.

.CO Internet Recognized as World Finance 100 Business Leader
Posted by Timm.CO Internet S.A.S., the company that runs the .CO domain, was recognized as a World Finance 100 Business Leader. The annual award recognizes “the very finest businesses and business leaders over the past year.” This year’s list also included industry heavyweights such as Apple, Facebook, IBM, Google, and Microsoft. The editorial board and readers of World Finance Magazine select businesses and individuals that outperformed the competition, made great strides in innovation, and helped redefine the business landscape. World Finance is a leading financial magazine, produced every two months by World News Media from its Headquarters in London.
“Realizing the massive shift that is about to take place in the domain industry as ICANN begins to accept applications for new domain extensions next week, we couldn’t be more pleased to be recognized as a leader in our field,” said Juan Diego Calle, CEO of .CO Internet SAS, in a press release. “Inclusion in this list of venerable industry heavyweights further validates our mission to help fellow entrepreneurs to build and grow great businesses online, and we have no doubt that the demand for short, credible .CO web addresses will continue to be in high demand, no matter where the industry heads.”
Over 1 million .CO domain names have been registered across more than 200 countries in the 18 months since the .CO domain launched. The .CO domain has become the web address of choice for entrepreneurs and startups that are tired of paying sky-high prices for a dwindling number of decent .COM domains.
Congratulations, .CO Internet!
